“For the past decade, I have worked as a nurse practitioner, providing medication management to children and adolescents in outpatient mental health settings as well as psychiatric residential facilities. My work experience has been enhanced by working alongside child psychiatrists and attending annual training updates on pediatric psychopharmacology. I look forward to working with you!”

Psychiatric Evaluation
A psychiatric evaluation is conducted for all new clients and lasts for approximately two hours. During this first meeting, Holly will meet with the caregivers and youth individually to discuss their concerns. The goal of the psychiatric evaluation is to build a trusting family-practitioner relationship, begin diagnostic clarification, develop treatment recommendations, and provide education. If medication is indicated, a prescription can be ordered that day.
Follow Up Appointments
Follow up visits are approximately forty minutes. The goal of follow up appointments are to monitor symptoms and response to treatment interventions. If needed, adjustments to the treatment plan will be made.
In 2010, Holly earned board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (across the lifespan) by the American nurses credentialing center. Holly has exclusively worked with children and adolescents throughout her career and specializes in psychiatry.
Prior to pursuing nursing school, Holly earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. While studying for her bachelor’s degree, Holly worked as a milieu counselor at Yale New Haven Hospital, on the child psychiatric inpatient unit and partial hospitalization program. The experience of working alongside psychiatric nurses as well as child psychiatrists and psychologists, influenced Holly’s decision to pursue a nursing career that was dedicated to helping families affected by mental health conditions. After graduating from Southern Connecticut State University, Holly worked in the New Haven public school setting, supporting youth diagnosed with Autism, who were receiving ABA therapy.
In 2006, Holly attended the University of Rochester school of nursing, one of the nation’s top ranked nursing programs. She earned a bachelor’s degree, graduating summa cum laude. After graduation, Holly worked as a registered nurse on the inpatient unit at Golisano children’s hospital at the university of Rochester medical center. While working as a registered nurse, Holly pursued a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing at the university of Rochester and graduated in 2010 with high honors.
Holly’s graduate training was specific to treating psychiatric conditions affecting children, adolescents, and young adults. Two years of clinical training were completed alongside child psychiatrists at the adolescent partial hospital program at the university of Rochester medical center as well as a therapeutic day school at Hillside children’s center.
For over a decade, Holly has worked as a nurse practitioner, providing medication management to children and adolescents in outpatient mental health settings as well as psychiatric residential facilities. Her work experience has been enhanced by working alongside child psychiatrists and attending annual training updates on pediatric psychopharmacology.
